Oh what a Wednesday

Who knew when I woke up this morning, most of it would be spent in the ER :(
Poor little Addy made her first ER trip this morning.
We woke up just like a normal morning. I feed her and then got her all ready to take some super fun pictures in her blessing dress. Went to slip the dress on, when she spit up, and it was red there was blood in it. Luckily she missed the dress but got the slip. I immediately took off the dress and called the Doctor, her pediatrician office was full, so they said they recommended me going to an insta care of the ER, but they thought the ER would be better since there were pediatricians there. So honestly I don't remember a ton, like putting her in the carseat. I remember walking out the door, driving, and then all of a sudden we were there. I was a mess crying everytime anyone would look at me or ask me anything. I hadn't even brushed my hair or gotten out of my pj's I went straight there. After 4 hrs. they sent us home. Her vitals were all perfect, she did test positive for blood in the spit up, but hello already knew that one. They took blood samples there were nothing wrong with them, they took x-rays of her tummy nothing wrong there either. They sent me home with nothing just telling me to watch her and come back if it got worse or kept happening since she wasn't spitting up the blood anymore by the time we left. They think maybe I was bleeding while trying to nurse her. Or she just had a little stomach upset or something like that. Oh what a morning. I hope this never happens again. She only cried when they pricked her foot to get blood, I've cried ALL day long. I guess I'm more of a baby then her.

That's tough. I hope she's okay.

I do recall hearing that babies can spit up blood that they drank from their mother's breast, so that is possible. And if everything else is checking out fine, that seems like the most logical candidate. If so, then she's probably fine. The obvious way to check is to pump some milk to see if there is blood in it. If so, it may be temporary. But if it continues, you should go see your OB/GYN.

I hope everything is okay.

Oh sweetie! I just heard from becky and hopped on. I'm so sorry! It can be way more scary and traumatizing for a parent than a child that's for sure. I'm sure she's just fine and hope everything stays that way! Hang in there....do you need anything?
