Your Middle Name

Dear Sweet Addyson,

Mommy and Daddy couldn't have gotten a better little girl if we had tried. You bring so much joy and fun into our lives, although you completely exhaust us at the same time. Your such a sweet little perfect girl. I know one day you are going to wonder why your middle name is Bree since there is no correlation to any of your relatives. So let me explain to you why you have the name you do. As we sat in the hospital for days every night we would write lists of middle names trying to pick on. One day you Daddy was talking to your Uncle Danny. Danny gave great advise he said you pick the first name cause you like it. Which is why your name is Addyson, we always thought you would be a Kaitlyn or Kaylee from the beginning but then one week before you were born, I was watching TV and there was a nurse with the name Addyson and I feel in love with it. Oddly enough this is how your mom's name was picked also, grandma when she was pregnant with me was watching TV one night when they decided they liked Jessica and there came my name. Anyway back to the middle name, Uncle Danny said the first name should be something you just like but the middle name has to have meaning there has to be some reason for the name. So that got us really thinking and narrowed our list down a lot. The night before we came home your Dad said I like the name Bree it is short for breathe since she stopped breathing a few minuets after she was born. We decided to sleep on it and would have to come to a conclusion tomorrow because we had to have a name before we left the hospital. All night I thought about the middle name and how perfect it was. So little one, your middle name is Bree short for breathe in hopes you will always remember the love of your father and father in heaven as you stopped breathing for that short time and sent your poor Daddys heart racing as he gave you a dear sweet blessing to help you breath. Addy know how much we love you. Know that you have a Mom and Dad that love you more than life. And a dear Father in Heaven that loves you too and is there for us when we need him the most. Your poor father can't even talk about it to this day. In fact as he brought you down to the recovery room to meet me he didn't even tell Mommy about what had happened, it wasn't until that night when I had your Dad write down what had happened that I read and found out there was a short time you hadn't been able to breathe, it was such a tender subject for your dear father. So I hope that your middle name has a little more meaning to you now.

With love always and forever,
Love, Mommy

I don't know why you have to make me cry when I read your very sentimental blog posts. Thanks for brightening my days.

I love this letter! You gotta post it in a journal, or make a blog book. So cute, love the reason you picked it - and I LOVE the name Addyson way better than Kaitlyn and Kaylee. It's so stinking cute, and I saw on a baby name website that it made it in some popular classic names...but I've only heard it once or twice. LOVE it!
