Where to Start

My baby is already more than a week old. And we are loving her. Although there have been quite a few adjustments that have had to been made. Friday Dec. 4th we were released from the hospital. It was exciting but scary to come home. It made me nervous not to have a nurse so close in case something happened. I found out that a ride down a bumpy road on the way home is very painful.

Daddy giving her a bottle before we leave, Addy trying to help.

Mommy getting Addy dressed.

Addy in her first Outfit.

First time in the carseat

The first night was rough. Second night was better although Addyson had her first diaper blow out, and it took us both a good hour to get her cleaned up and back ready for bed. There was poop every where. This is what her daddy had to say

"First diaper blowout last night at 3 a.m. No one told me I would need a class 5 Hazmat suit to change a diaper. I thought about calling the fire department to hose her down." - Josh

She is now doing better although she does loves to be up at night still we can usually get her down at 1 am then she will just wake up every 3 hours to feed then go back to bed.

Monday, Dec. 7th Addy saw the Pediatrician for the first time she is now at 7 lbs. 7 oz.. So she has gained since we left the hospital and the doctor says she is doing great. Although I think she poops way to much, I think staying at home with a baby all I do all day is feed her, rock her, and change her pants. Oh well. I love her and she is worth every minuet of it.

Last night we found that Addy will not go to sleep at night unless she is swaddled in her certain brand of swaddling blankets we have swaddled her in since she came home. We found that out the hard way but it is a very nice thing to know, guess I better buy a couple more.

Josh has been so good to me helping me with everything I need. And he just loves his little girl. But I think he is having a hard time with the sleep deprivation.

Addy 6 days old

Here is what Josh rigged up for me to get out of bed. I'm super impressed, and it works great!

So much fun! Welcome to life of a newborn! She is a doll for sure.

She is SO adorable Jess! Oh, I want to hold her! I hope you get feeling better soon - I hear that recovery from a c-section is way harder than the typical recovery. It's worth it, though, like you said. She is the sweetest!

Hey Josh and Jessica, Brenna Kimber here. Jessica, if you don't know me, I went to school with Josh and married Chad Kimber who also went to school with Josh. I got to your blog while looking at the Noland's. Your baby girl is absolutely gorgeous! I hope your recovering from your C-section okay. I've never had one of those so I don't know what that is like. I do know what caring for a newborn is like though since I've done it twice. Little Russell is only three months old. I'll tell you to just hang in there. That first month is a bugger with all the recovery, hormones, and absolute sleep deprivation. But they are all worth it and in just a few weeks you'll be getting more sleep (at least you should--no guarantees. Russell still gets me up at least once, sometimes twice). But she is gorgeous and I loved her hair. Congratulations!

She is so cute. Congratulations! I'm glad everything went okay. C-sections aren't fun. I hope you guys enjoy every minute.

Sounds like things are good and normal! She's so cute - sorry about the blowout. Hopefully it's not a constant thing. :)

She is beautiful. I hope you are doing well. I need to call you and chat, maybe one day I will get around to that. Tell Josh he will get used to the sleep deprivation. Damon did, you never get that sleep back again. The life of parenthood. Yeah.
